A single note or pitch is called a melody line. Two notes or pitches are called intervals. Three notes or pitches are called triads, the beginning of our chord system. This triad section deals with triads built in mixed thirds.

Learn to read and analyze the written notes. You must also know where it is played. Its duration and dynamics must all be ONE and RIGHT NOW! That's why I decided to take the time to write out all my exercises so please READ them! I hope you understand the material and develop a visual conception to the point where you could write out these exercises without referring back to the book. This text includes all the closed voicings of triads. Keep practicing and you will recognize the Root, First and Second Inversions melodically and harmonically. In time, all the elements will come together and you will be a good reader.
